PRINTING DATATRIEVE PROGRAMS

 

To print a datatrieve program, the steps are as follows:

  1. Log into BLT4.

  2. At the $ prompt, type "DTR"

  3. At the DTR> prompt, edit the procedure by typing:
    "edit <directory_name.program_name>"
    ie. "Edit daily_procedures.daily_letters_setup"

  4. You should get a ‘ * ’ prompt. If not, press < ctrl + z >.

  5. At the ‘ * ’ prompt, type "wr <filename.dtr>" to extract the program to your directory.

  6. At the next ‘ * ’ prompt, type "quit".

  7. At the DTR> prompt, type "exit".

  8. At the $ prompt, type "print/que=lta9027 <filename.dtr>

  9. The program will then print on the high speed line printer in the printer room on the second floor.
